Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 2026

1. Our Core Privacy Principle: Local Processing

Unlike most online PDF editors, HelaForge is built on a strict privacy-first architecture. We do not upload, transmit, or store your PDF files on any external servers. All processing—whether it is merging, splitting, compressing, or editing—happens entirely locally within your web browser using your device's own processing power.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Because of our local-processing architecture, we do not have access to, collect, or store any of the following:

  • The contents of your PDF documents
  • The passwords you enter to unlock PDFs
  • The images or text you add to PDFs
  • Metadata from your files

3. Information We Collect Automatically

To improve HelaForge and understand how our website is used, we use basic analytics services (like Vercel Analytics). This may collect standard, anonymized information such as:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • General geographic location (country/city level)

This data contains no personally identifiable information (PII) and cannot be linked to the documents you edit.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. We may use your browser's Local Storage or IndexedDB strictly for functional purposes—for example, temporarily holding a document in memory while you edit it, or saving your UI preferences. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us.

5. Third-Party Services

Our website is hosted on modern cloud infrastructure (e.g., Vercel). These providers may collect basic network request logs (like IP addresses) for security and anti-DDoS purposes in accordance with their own privacy policies. However, they never have access to your PDF files.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
